Privacy Policy

BudGIT AI is built by XenonLabs. This policy explains how the app handles your data. The short version: your data stays on your device, and we have no access to it.

What data does the app collect?

None. BudGIT AI does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All of your financial data — transactions, accounts, categories, budgets, savings goals, income sources, bills, and transfers — is stored locally on your device and never leaves it.

The app does not require an account, email address, phone number, or any form of sign-up to use.

On-device processing

BudGIT AI includes AI features — transaction categorization, receipt parsing, conversational financial assistant, voice input, and spending insights — that run entirely on your device using an on-device language model. No data is sent to any cloud service, API, or third-party server for AI processing.

The AI model is downloaded to your device on first use. Once downloaded, all inference happens locally and no further network calls are made for AI features.

Speech recognition and text recognition (OCR) also run locally on your device. Audio from voice input is processed in real-time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. Text-to-speech uses your device's built-in speech engine.

Device permissions

BudGIT AI may request the following permissions, all of which are optional and used only for specific features:

  • Camera — scan receipts for automatic transaction entry
  • Microphone — voice-activated transaction entry
  • Photo library — select receipt images for scanning
  • Biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint) — unlock the app and protect your financial data
  • Notifications — bill reminders, budget warnings, and financial summaries (all scheduled locally)

No permission grants result in data being sent externally. All processing tied to these permissions happens on your device.

Security

BudGIT AI includes multiple layers of on-device security:

  • App lock — optional PIN (securely hashed, never stored in plain text) or biometric authentication to protect access to the app
  • Encrypted backups — when you create a backup with a password, it is encrypted using industry-standard encryption. Backup integrity is verified with checksums
  • Tamper detection — the app monitors for integrity compromises and unofficial installation sources to help protect against unauthorized access

Photos and images

Receipt photos, transaction attachments, and your profile photo are stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. These images are never uploaded or shared externally. When you create an encrypted backup, images are included in the backup archive.

Crash reporting

The app includes optional crash reporting to help us identify and fix issues. Crash reports may include:

  • Device model and operating system version
  • App version
  • Stack traces from crashes

Crash reports never include your financial data, transaction history, account information, or any personally identifiable information. You can disable crash reporting at any time in settings.

Third-party services

BudGIT AI does not include any advertising SDKs, analytics frameworks, or third-party tracking. There are no social media integrations, no usage analytics, and no telemetry of any kind beyond the optional crash reporting described above.

The only network connections the app makes are:

  • AI model download — a one-time download when you first enable AI features. No authentication or personal data is required.
  • Crash reports — sent only if you have not disabled crash reporting in settings. No financial data or PII is included.
  • In-app review — the app may prompt you to rate it on the App Store or Google Play using the platform's native review dialog. No data is sent to us through this process.

Data storage and deletion

All app data is stored locally on your device using an embedded database. We do not have access to it and cannot recover it.

To delete your data, you can either use the in-app data management options or simply uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes all app data from your device completely.

Backup and export

You can create full backups of your data at any time. Backups are saved as encrypted or unencrypted archive files stored wherever you choose on your device. You can also enable automatic backups with a configurable retention policy. Restoring a backup creates a safety snapshot first, with automatic rollback if anything goes wrong.

You can also export your data as CSV or PDF for external use. Your data is portable and never locked in.

Children's privacy

BudGIT AI does not collect data from anyone, including children. Since no personal information is collected or transmitted, there is no applicable children's data to protect. The app is suitable for all ages.

Changes to this policy

If this policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Since the app does not collect your data, we have no way to notify you directly — we recommend checking this page periodically.
